New Perspectives on the Way of the Cross | February 21 to March 20

Music

Grace Church continues to support a legacy of traditional Anglican music with choir and organ.

At the 10:30 service you will hear congregational hymns, a variety of choral anthems, and a diverse selection of organ repertoire.

Additional services heavily featuring the choir include Mid-Lent Evensong, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday, All Saints Sunday Evensong, Lessons and Carols, and Christmas Eve Midnight Mass.

Practice times for choirs are Wednesdays 6:30pm and Sundays 9:30am

Choir Director

Peter Frost

Peter joined the staff of Grace Church in July of 2017. As organist and choirmaster, Peter programs liturgically appropriate hymnody, choral music, and organ voluntaries for regular services as well as an array of special services including Lessons and Carols and Evensong.

Notable performances include Guilmant Organ Concerto no 1 with the SEK Symphony, continuo for Messiah with MSSU combined choirs and orchestra, and choral evensong with PSU choirs at Gloucester Cathedral, England.

Peter holds a Bachelors of Music and Masters of Music in organ performance from Pittsburg State University.

Our Organ

A new mechanical action pipe organ built by MP Rathke, Inc. beginning in 2018. This exciting new instrument was designed to accompany the choir, support congregational singing, and convincingly play the repertoire. A Service of Dedication was held Oct 9, 2022 and can be viewed here.

Cover Feature: M. P. Rathke Opus 12

The organ was featured on the cover of national organist periodical The Diapason in December 2022.
